Some sad News

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Philip Migdale. Philip was a chartered accountant  and a partner with Ray Greatorex, our former President in their accountancy firm. He was a great supporter of the club in years gone by, regularly attending various events including the Annual Club dinner held in the Village Hall and was also a founder member of the Century Club.

The funeral has already taken place and a thanksgiving gathering will be held in the Pulborough Village Hall on Sunday 19 May.

Under 12 Match report vs West Chiltington

A chilly morning awaited Saturday’s fixture where the Under 12’s took on West Chiltington and Thakeham Colts in our first game for the season.

Our captain, Oscar won the toss and elected to bat.

Openers, Ran and Oscar, started exceptionally well dispatching some of loose balls to the boundary.  They both reached totals in the 20’s (Ran- 27, Oscar- 23).  Congratulations to Will Dixon, our leading run scorer, who came in at number 3 and continued the good start and reached 32 (retired not out) with some great shots including a very nice 6 over square leg.

Wisborough Green continued accumulating runs to the total with Seb, Tom and Isaac.  Tom and Isaac batted very well in the last few overs, with some great running between the wickets, and in the end Wisborough Green reached a very good total of 138-4 off their 20 overs.

Wisborough Green then set about defending their total.  The opening bowlers, Will Dixon and Will Reed, started very well with some great line and length bowling restricting the opposition’s ability to score runs.  Will Reed removed one of the openers.  Some great fielding, catching and bowling from the rest of team continued and restricted the oppositions total.  Well done to our other wicket takers, Alex Greaves and Ran Dawson and congratulations to our leading wicket taker Seb, who took 2-6 bowling at the end of the innings.

The final scores were Wisborough Green Colts 138-4 vs West Chiltington and Thakeham Colts 87-5.  A great win and team performance with everyone contributing to the result. Well done boys !
