Under 10 vs Cuckfield

Following our Friday night cricket practice, I planned my batting pairs and batting order.
Come Saturday morning the weather was not the normal sunny start that we had become used to but rather overcast with chances of rain. Our spirits were high, and we all successfully found the cricket ground by hugging the tennis court.
We won the toss, and I chose for Wisborough to field first and put myself as wicket keeper for the match.
Cuckfield started with a strong pair, and we started with our strongest bowlers from the warmup that morning Henry and Fin.
As can be seen from the final scores Cuckfield took a fair few runs, however, our fielding is becoming tighter each match and Coach Peter even gave praise for effective ‘backing up’ although I did drop a couple of clangers whilst being wicky (pesky keeper gloves can be a hinderance as well as a help)
George took our first wicket, with Jack B showing some accurate throwing to set Fin up for another. Jack H took the opportunity to take a wicket creating a run out situation, with Henry taking our fourth.
Alexander and Henry showed their skills in stopping some fours.
We went into bat with a target of 319 to beat and facing some Sussex bowlers, Charlie secured 2 x fours and was a good pairing with Jack H communicating well with each other.
Overall, our communication is getting better whilst batting and we all took opportunities to score runs when in the past we would not have had the confidence to do.
So, although we lost the game it was good match which we all enjoyed.
Final score Cuckfield 319 Wisborough Green 215
