Wizzy News 28 May 2020

Hi everyone

Welcome this week’s Wizzy News.

Really good news that the lockdown rules are slowly being lifted and we can return to some form of normality. The ECB have announced that county cricket may well commence on 1 August which is great and we patiently await the news regarding recreational cricket. Some clubs around the country have commenced net sessions in accordance with the ECB guidelines and we look forward to having some form of training sessions ourselves. In the meantime we have provided some training drills players can do from home .

Sussex Sharks Logo

Sussex Cricket have asked clubs to submit some new ideas for the Sussex Sharks logo. Some of our younger Colts may wish to help out with this – please send us a pic of the coloured in logo so we can forward it on to Sussex Cricket

Heads, shoulders, knees and toes challenge

Thanks to those who submitted their contribution to the heads, shoulders, knees and toes and challenge. Not quite a completion of the challenge for obvious reasons , but well done Tom Dawson and Eddie Ragg – nice try ……..

Catching game – head and over

Here’s a great catching game for the Colts called ‘up and over’ . Probably best played away from a window …..

Coaching points

This week our very own master coach Tarnie Dixon talks about the forward defensive .

The second coaching video covers the development of the downswing that can easily be done from home. All that is required is a set of stumps.

And finally ….

So what have you been doing during lockdown ? Me : Just mucking about in the garden…. (click on the video below)

That’s it for this week – If there is anything we need to know, you know where to find us.

Have a great week

Stay safe

Cheers
