Second X1 vs Arundel

  • Team left the pavilion full of confidence that 2nd placed Arundel were going to deliver the goods as usual and produce a cracker of a tea
  • Skipper Frank does it again and wins the toss on what looks like a road of a wicket (he has his suspicions that it might not be the case and there may be something in the wicket early on)
  • JCS and Frank open the bowling – Vickery strikes early on to remove one of openers.
  • After short opening spell Eddie Ragg and Dan V replace opening pair.
  • Dan Vickery shines with the ball to remove next 3 batsmen with some excellent straight bowling
  • JCS snaffles one more in the slips to give Dan the man 4 scalps for 25
  • Players concerned for the future of the Arundel countryside after Tommy Colbran tries to secretly sneak off to mark his territory against a bush
  • Under 14 Richard Wilson clings onto a stunner of a catch to remove the backbone of Arundel’s batting line-up.
  • Arundel slump to 164 all out in the 35th over.
  • A solid tea from Arundel sees Wisborough in to a happy place with full tummies.
  • Dan V and Calum ‘binary’ Price’ take to the crease
  • Vickery survives first ball scare as he nicks one to slip only to be given his first of many lives.
  • Some big hitting , slow singles and solid blocking see Wiz reach 123 before Calum ‘binary’ Price falls for 32 well run singles.
  • Dan V falls 2 runs later as he tries to go over the top again, this time he picks the one Arundel fielder who could catch the soap in the shower , and is out for 83.
  • After a small wobble inform man JCS combines with Eddie Ragg to knock off the winning runs.
  • A second solid win against another top 4 team sees Green come off the bottom – long may this form and belief continue
  • Next week is Broadwater. Pressure is on to find a team as its now the turn of the other joint captain to sign his life away. Good luck Chris Francis ! xxx
